I met Cristina and Jonathan for their engagement session in downtown Chicago at North Avenue Beach on a beautiful sunny morning. The city felt calm, and the sunlight was absolutely gorgeous reflecting off the lake, creating the most dreamy golden glow. Cristina and Jonathan were so natural together, their joy was contagious throughout our entire time together!

After spending time along the North Avenue Pier and capturing some stunning skyline views, we made our way to Northerly Island. This is one of my all time favourite locations as it gives you a little bit of everything! A perfect spot to get multiple looks without needing to change up the location entirely. A prairie feel with tall grass and flowers, as well as rocky crags along the lakefront that remind me of a spot Josh and I love in San Diego, peaceful, romantic, and a little windswept in the best way.

It was so refreshing to switch it up and photograph the city in the morning. A morning session is a great alternative to getting that golden light hour in the evening and is just a fun way to start the day! I had a wonderful time capturing this season of engagement for Cristina and Jonathan and I know their wedding day will be just as beautiful! I truly cannot wait to celebrate with them!
